BREAKING: Prisoner Escapes from Police

Thursday, April 9th 2015. BMG: Authorities in Orange Walk are currently actively seeking a wanted prisoner who escaped from their grasp as they were being transported to the Central Prison this afternoon.

The escapee has been identified as 37 year old Angel Torres of a Cabbage Street address in the Louisiana Area of Orange Walk Town.

Authorities have confirmed that Torres jumped out of the moving police truck as it was passing over the bump.

Torres escaped through a bushy area and swam across a pond that connects to the New River.

It is alleged that police fired a few shots to subdue him but were unsuccessful.

A man hunt is currently underway for Torres.
