Friday, April 17th, 2015. BMG: At 12:53 this afternoon, a Delta Airline touched ground in Belizean soil at the Philip Goldson International Airport with Belize’s striker; Deon McCaulay.

For context, on Monday the Football Federation of Belize announced that if McCaulay wanted to play for the National team he would then need to find his way back since the rules state that he was ineligible to be flown back using the Federations’ funds. The Federation wentDEon on record to state, “it was out of their hands: unless Belize’s top goal scorer can pay his way home, but not assuring him that he makes it on to the national team to play in the second round of the regional qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.”

As a result, a group of his fans formed a Group called the Association of Belizeans Concerned with Bringing Deon Home whom organized a dollar drive. Their target was to fundraise a total of $5,000 dollars which they met. The group believes that Belize has a better chance on the field with the prolific goal scorer in the National Team. This morning, Deon was met by family, friends and fans at the PGIA Airport.
