Lover’s quarrels lands one at the KHMH

Monday, April 20^th, 2015. BMG: Authorities in Corozal are investigating a lover’s quarrel that landed one of them at the KHMH for treatment. According to the officials, around 9pm on Sunday, they visited the Corozal Community Hospital where they saw 23 year old Leonardo Botes from Altamira Village bleeding profusely.

Shortly after the police visited the CCH, 38 year old Yeni Gomez, the common law of Botes visited the Corozal station drenched in blood to make a report. Gomez claims she and her common law husband along with their family and friends were socializing at her house drinking a few alcoholic beverages, when she and Botes, ended in their private room where a misunderstanding erupted between them. It is alleged that Botes broke an empty bottle and wanted to stab Gomez. As a result, a struggle ensued between them and during the struggle, according to Gomez; Botes stabbed himself in his lower left shoulder with the piece of broken bottle.

Gomez added in her report, that it was not the first time that she has been physically abused by Botes. Gomez complained of pain on her right hand and had a swollen face. A medico form was issued to Gomez and Doctors classified her injuries as harm. Meanwhile, Botes who was transported to the KHMH is listed in critical condition.  Corozal Police Investigation continues.
