District Education Team in Cayo is empowered for Training

Wednesday, May 6^th, 2015. Gwen Gonzales Reporting: The Officers of the Cayo District Education Centre are engaged in Training of Trainers Sessions in preparation for the Summer Continuous Professional Development Training. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is embarking on its aim of providing quality education at all levels through various initiatives of the Belize Education Sector Strategy (BESS).

The BESS has three main objectives, which are increase equitable access at all levels of education, improve the quality and relevance of education at all levels, and strengthen governance throughout the sector with emphasis on increased student achievement. The officers are being empowered to assist the school leaders, managers, and teachers in their school-self assessment and localizing school curriculum.

The training started on Tuesday, May 5^th and concludes on Friday May 8^th.
