Belize City man charged for Orange Walk Murder

Friday, May 8^th 2015. BMG: Orange Walk Police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of 18 year old Derrick Romero of Sittee River Street in Orange Walk Town on Wednesday morning. Police say the trigger man is 20 year old Kachief Bevans of a Belize City address. 

He was arraigned this morning at the Orange Walk Magistrates Court where Magistrate Murlene Moody remanded him to the Central Prison until a date set in June.

For context, shortly after ten on Wednesday morning of this week, Romero was in socializing with two other men in a yard of an apartment complex on said street was approached by a lone gun man who had jumped the fence. The trigger man unleashed several shots at him where he sustained injuries to the neck, upper chest and lower abdomen. Romero was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital but died whilst receiving treatment.
