In San Ignacio Town, members of the community gathered by the wooden bridge to pledge their 100% support to OCEANA against offshore oil drilling in Belize.
Julienne Sanchez, Cayo Representative for OCEANA told us in an interview that they reached out to the community via television advertisements, Facebook ads, and radio announcements and that they were excited to be a part of this educational event and are looking forward to more public participation in the future.
The Hands Across The Sand against Off Shore Exploration campaign was held countrywide in the following destinations: San Ignacio Town, San Pedro Town, Dangriga, Corozal, Punta Gorda, Belmopan, Orange Walk, Caye Caulker, Belize City, Placencia, and Hopkins.
