Daughter of Paul Signorino, Belize’s latest American murder victim, speaks

Wednesday, May 20th 2015. BMG: Amireah Signornio, the daughter of the late Paul Signorino who was murdered in Teakettle Village last week Friday writes about the kind and generous man her dad was.

She sent these words to us in Belize:

He was not born in Belize, but his last days were lived here. His name meant something to those who lived along the Valley of Peace Road where he lived. In Teakettle Village, his name is associated with the terrible tragedy in which he died. His last moments were shared with his friend Julian Christopher Jones, whom he went to visit on May 15th at the residence of Laura Jo Lambert in the Pineapple Hill area of Teakettle.

My dad was an amazing man. He always had a smile on his face and taught us all to enjoy the simple things in life and be HAPPY! He got the chance to take my boys fishing and camping last summer, all 4 of them, my daughter has learned from him as well. He was the best fisherman ever as most of you will recall, as he took many of you out with him to catch your first or biggest fish!! Including me, at 5 a.m. I would get so mad at him for dragging me out of bed to go fish in a boat on a river! I love fishing now!!Hope my boys know they are going to have to show off what they learned last summer.11267744_471722839644771_7562417204006207140_n 10476503_471722769644778_4603865418639735993_n 10465485_471722866311435_7431766654362515057_o 11058648_471722862978102_3021127778907582388_n 11350480_471722852978103_7422353320190850463_n

“Don’t make your sissy show ya up with more and bigger fish!” I also want to say my dad would be bubbling over with joy and happiness (something he did well) from all the love, kind words and prayers from everyone, to include those that got the chance to love him, meet him, or simply just got to know him via Internet, not to forget those that just know of him and the horrible incident that took my father’s life.

I am his daughter and never realized how many lives he made a positive impact on. Besides mine! I am truly blown away with the love and kind words for my father. Every time I cry I have to smile, just for him….. so proud to call him my daddy. I don’t think I need to say it but I will any how, your loved one could be taken from you I a blink of an eye, just like my dad was. I got a call from Belize police first thing in the morning telling me “they killed him. He is dead.” That was all got from them. So please don’t take your loved ones for granted make sure you take the time to reach out to them and let them know you love them.

Take my dad’s advice and ” keep life simple, enjoy your family and be HAPPY!” My dad called me 10 times on mothers day. I kept missing his call that day, the way I look at it now. I did not get to talk to him that one last time but I do have a bunch of voice mails from him with all his kind words, saying he loves me and saying one of my nicknames he gave, telling me this is your DAD where are you…with his happy go lucky voice. Living In Belize made it hard for him to get to a phone, so just knowing he made several attempts to call me that day just to say I love you and have a wonderful day makes me luckiest daughter ever! He made sure he took the time to let his loved ones feel special.

To his family and friends in Belize he spoke so highly of you and let us know how kind and friendly you all were. He made some amazing friends down there and I am sorry for your loss. Just remember he loved you all and he was happy to spend the rest of his life there!

He was truly happy and at peace in Belize, his new found home, taken from him a little to soon…. I will share some of the pics he sent me and show you all just why he fell in love. Photography was his hobby, I have received some wonderful pics he would want shared. Love to all.”
