Monday, May 25th, 2015. BMG: Information reaching our news room is that there have been two more reports over the long weekend of gun violence in Belize City.
The first incident played out on Saturday, May 23rd on Amara Avenue in Belize City where the windshield of a vehicle was damaged.
Fortunately no one was injured and quick police respond led to the arrest of a 16-year old minor, and the recovery of a 9mm firearm.
The second incident happened on Sunday, May 24th around 8 pm when police responded to a report of shots being fired on Arlington Drive in Belize City.
Upon conducting ground work in the area, police discovered 5, 9mm expended shells and 1 live round in the middle of the street.
Initial investigation revealed that a 25-year-old man was driving his Grey Mitsubishi Galant on Arlington Drive when someone fired several shots at him causing his car to receive 5 gunshots.
Belize City Police are currently investigating both incidents.
