A Letter to Prime Minister Dean Barrow

Thursday, May 28th 2015.

By Charles Leslie Jr.

Dear Prime Minister Barrow,

May I suggest that you use the money you are paying for ads to tell us of all the great things you are doing with our Petrocaribe money, and instead invest in brand new ambulances for all our hospitals.

We know that you are paving roads all over the country. We can see it when we drive over it in our vehicles or when we catch the bus, so, no need to keep reminding us on a daily basis via a bombardment of ads.

What we would like, is that our loved ones don’t lose their lives because they get a heart attack and the hospital in Belmopan is ill-equipped so they had to be transferred to KHMH all the way to Belize City, which basically assured their death.

What we would like is to not have our kids wait for 4 hours after being shot in the head, for an ambulance because the two ambulances from Southern Regional hospital broke down…both of them.

What we would like is to not have our loved ones murdered and then carted off like road kill in the back of a rusted pick-up truck, because we don’t have proper medical equipment to handle our dead and dying.

What we would like, Prime Minister Barrow, is to have a state of the art health system, which shouldn’t be hard since we have a small population and especially since we have all this money “rolling.”

Sincerely, Charles Leslie Jr. – a concerned citizen whom have seen too many people die needlessly due to lack of basic medical equipment, facilities and trained personnel.
