Where does Belize fit into Pangea?

Friday, May 29th 2015. BMG: Formed about 300 million years ago, Pangae was a supercontinent that incorporated almost all the landmasses on Earth, and according to an article entitled “This Is What Supercontinent Pangea Looks Like Mapped With Modern Borders” on, the supercontinent was like traveling from China to Antarctica, crossing through Canada, Brazil and India – without setting foot in any water.

“Unfortunately we have all missed our chance as the supercontinent of Pangea no longer exist,” states, a website that contains a plethora of interesting articles on science.

Massimo Pietrobon, a talented artist redrew the map of Pangea accounting for the political boundaries that separate us today.

The map shows that Belize would be in South America and countries like Ecuador and Colombia would be in front of Belize.

Pietrobon’s map also shows that Europe would be touching Africa, Cuba would be touching Miami, and Venezuela would be touching the U.S.A..

The supercontinent was surrounded by a super ocean called Panthalassa and the bulk of the landmass was in the southern hemisphere.

“Evidence for Pangea has been found in similar fossils recently discovered in South Africa, India and Australia, such as the therapsid Lystrosaurus and similar rock forms seen between the eastern coast of South America and the western coast of Africa,” concludes the article on
