Shadir Marin out on bail

Posted: Thursday, June 4, 2015. 4:42 pm CST.

Thursday, June 4th, 2015: Aaron Humes Reporting: Earlier this week 25 year old manager of San Pedro Express Water Taxi Shadir Marin was charged with aggravated assault via firearm of a disc jockey, Edison Usher.

Usher had accused him of pulling out a firearm on him when he went to confront him for running over the wires of his sound system at a fundraising event in Belize City in April. He spent overnight on Tuesday in prison but is free following bail being granted of $7,000. DSC_0084

Supreme Court Justice Troadio Gonzalez heard the speedily present application by Senior Counsel Godfrey Smith, sitting in for junior partner Leslie Mendez.

The usual conditions of appearing in court and at the police station, turning over travel documents and not meeting with the complainant were set.

Usher had complained that police were dragging their feet and it took over a month for charges to be filed. Marin spent just a few hours in jail before getting to go home on Wednesday.

He is due back in court on July 28.
