Thursday, June 18th, 2015. BMG: One of the most popular gastronomic events of summer in Belize is here. We are talking about the Lobster Fest activities being held in San Pedro Town, Caye Caulker and Placencia.
The Placencia Lobster fest is the village’s savvy way of celebrating the opening of the lobster season and the three day event is scheduled for this weekend, June 19th – 21st. The fun consists of plenty of outdoor food booths with everyone´s favorite seafood prepared fresh in a variety of ways.
From lobster on the grill, to lobster thermidor, to lobster ceviche, lobster kebabs and even lobster chowder, there will surely be dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. Raffles, fun contests popular local musicians and DJs playing live music, there is a great atmosphere of fun and entertainment all around.
Fishing, Lobster cookout and rum punch competitions to sporting exhibitions, clown entertainment for the kids, marching band parades, Rotary’s duck run, a Father’s day dance, live bands and cultural groups, the 2015 Placencia Lobster fest will be an event with family appeal that is impossible to duplicate.
Although Placencia doesn’t host the only Lobster fest in the country, as Caye Caulker and San Pedro also have Lobster fests, it is considered by many Belizeans and tourists to be the most fun and exciting fest out of the three.
‘Pint’ as the small coastal village is commonly called, boasts the best beaches in the entire country and with a well-organized weekend of events, planned by the Placencia Village Council and its BTB Chapter, the fest gravitates a larger crowd every year and with this year being the 17th annual, the celebration and the crowd promises to be bigger than ever.
