Mexican drowns in Belize’s waters

Saturday, June 20th, 2015. BMG: Orange walk police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning of a Mexican national.

Residents say the drowning occurred around 1:30pm, when one male person known to the community as Juan, went swimming in the river and did not make it across.

The person was seen having difficulty staying afloat when he suddenly submerged and did not resurface. Police are investigating. More on this story as the details become available.
