Caye Caulker stabbing sends 2 men to hospital

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. BMG: Two men are today recovering from stab wounds sustained in a fight over the Lobsterfest weekend in Caye Caulker.

Island authorities report that on Sunday evening around 7 P.M., 31 year old Felix Petillo of a Berry Street address in Belize City was transported to the KHMH with stab wounds on his left side and back, and 33 year old Deon Pitts was admitted at the Caye Caulker Poly Clinic, also with stabbed wounds.

Initial investigation reveals that Pitts of a Bay Side Area address in San Pedro Town was in the Palapas area on Avenida Hicaco when he was approached by Petillo who pulled out a knife and stabbed him to his left shoulder and right arm pit.

Pitts claims that he managed to get in possession of the knife from Felix and inflicted the injuries to Petillo.

Police are investigating.
