Intoxicated Guatemalan man chops his whole family with a machete

Monday, July 06, 2015. BMG: San Ignacio police visited a residence in the Camino del Rio area around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 5th, where they saw 24 year old Guatemalan National, David Coc suffering from a large chop wound to the head.

Initial investigation revealed that Coc, while under the influence of alcohol physically assaulted his 28 year old girlfriend, Asuzena Garcia and when his father in law intervened; Coc reportedly got a machete and chopped 41 year old Juan de Juan on the left side of the neck and shoulder.

Police say Coc then went on a rampage and chopped his 51 year old mother in law, Mirna Francisca Martinez to the head, a 13 year old male relative to the neck and his girlfriend Asusena to the head and arm.

It is alleged that during the incident, Coc received a chop wound to the head and all injured persons, all Guatemalan Nationals, were taken to the Western Regional Hospital and admitted in stable condition. Meanwhile, police investigation continues.
