Driver of the Taiwanese Embassy robbed in the old capital

Tuesday, July 7th, 2015. BMG: The Embassy of  The Republic of China (Taiwan) is today reeling in from a huge financial loss as a lone thief targeted their Driver who was carrying thousands of dollars in cash.

According to police, the Embassy’s driver reported that on Monday, he went to the Belize Bank located on Albert Street to do his normal deposits and withdrawal for the Embassy. However, as he was about to exit the parking lot of the bank he was approached by a male person who placed a hand gun to his face and demanded the money.

Fearing for his life, he handed over a manila envelope containing $70,000.00 in cash which is the property of the Embassy. The male person then got on a bicycle that was nearby and rode off making good his escape.

Up to midday today, police were no closer in identifying the perpetrator or recovering the money.
