Cayo schools burglarized; police warn against buying stolen items

Tuesday, July 7th,, 2015. Flora Pereira Reporting: Police have warned residents of the Twin Towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena that it is a crime to purchase stolen goods.

This comes as police in San Ignacio investigate separate burglaries at two primary schools – Santa Elena R.C. School and St. Andrew’s Anglican in San Ignacio.

Both schools were hit in recent days and the police’s initial investigation indicates that over $5,000 in goods were stolen.

Those with any information on either burglary are asked to contact the nearest police station.
