Friday, August 28, 2015. BMG: A wooden structure, measuring 25 by 30 feet with zinc roofing, was completely destroyed by a blaze last night, August 27, in the Maya Mopan Extension area, Belmopan.
Police and the Belmopan Fire Department responded to the call around 9:20 p.m. and saw the structure completely engulfed in flames, after which it was quickly extinguished by the firefighters.
25 year old Valentino Choco, the owner of the house, told officers that he had left home 11:00 a.m that same morning and when he returned at 9:10 p.m, he saw flames coming from the North side of the structure.
Although the house had no electricity, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Police investigations continue.
