OW family’s home invaded‏

9. CRIMEThursday, October 1st, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: A brazen daylight home invasion in Orange Walk Town has left one person injured. Two men visited the home of Gabriel “Dj Gaby” Cabrera Sr. on the Belize Corozal Road around 8am.

In the home at the time of the invasion was Cabrera’s wife, Julie Cabrera, who was getting her daughter ready and had just opened her clothing shop for business. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Selvin Tillett, Officer Commanding OW Police, both men were masked and one was armed with what appeared to be a firearm.

They stole approximately ten thousand dollars worth of money and jewelry. Julie Cabrera sustained bruises to her neck, apparently caused by the robbers ruthlessly ripping off her gold necklace. They escaped before Police arrived on the scene.

The Cabreras declined to comment on the incident. Police investigations continue.
