Copper thieves steal 35K worth of wiring

9. CRIMEMonday, October 5th, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: A businessman from San Jose Nuevo Palmar is crying foul today after thieves stole over 35 thousand dollars worth of valuable copper wire from his heavy duty truck.

According to the report, 36-year-old Perla Aldana of said Village reported that on Sunday morning about 9:00 a.m., her uncle went to start a stone crusher that was parked in front of her house and it did not start. Upon making checks on the machine he noticed that six lengths of wire which consist of mainly copper wire were cut and stolen.

The report further states that each length of cable measures about 16 feet and is valued at $6,000.00 to a total value of $36,000.00. Further checks revealed that a truck battery valued at $500.00 was also missing all to a total value of $36,500.00.

Police are investigating the burglary.
