Jose Chacon jumps ship

Monday, October 5^th, 2015. BMG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) issued a press release earlier today, announcing that Jose Chacon has resigned from the People’s United Party (PUP) and severed all ties with them to become the newest member of the UDP, pledging to work with Hon. John Saldivar in the Belmopan constituency.

Chacon won a convention and became the Mayoral candidate for the 2015 Municipal elections in Belmopan, on the PUP slate in March but was defeated by Khalid Beslisle of the UDP. The release states that Chacon has decided to leave the PUP after seeing the transformation of Belmopan under the leadership of Hon. Saldivar and the UDP.
