Thursday, October 8th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Today was the 4th Annual Prime Minister’s Business Forum which was held today at the Biltmore Hotel in Belize City.
Among other things, a report on the status of reform actions discussed at PM Business Forums in the past was presented. In his closing remarks PM Barrow said that there is far more understanding and a level of mutual respect between the public and private sector.
Barrow went on to say that the pie is growing and a preoccupation has been how to share that pie equitably.
Included in the updates today was the implementation of transparent systems and processes in the Public Service. According to the update, among other things, the Vital Statistics Offices have been interconnected countrywide.
In the public service commission, new members were added including an attorney. There were updates in land and survey department, education, import and export, renewable energy and ICT’s to name a few.
The theme for this year’s forum is Partnership for growth and Prosperity.
