Tuesday, October 13th, 2015. BMG: Thirty-five-year old Marco Tulio, a resident from the village of Armenia in the Cayo District is facing the long arm of the law.
According to 58-year-old Henry Reimer, a Belizean farmer and resident of Spanish Lookout, on October 11th at around 1:30 p.m., he was informed that a white cargo truck was leaving his premises in the Agua Viva area located off Mile 44 on the Hummingbird Highway with log-wood.
He stated to police that no one was given permission to remove log-wood from his property. As a result, police visited an area in Armenia Village where the truck was seen. The owner of the truck was asked to produce a license or permit to cut log-wood, however, he could not produce any.
Since then police have recovered approximately 117 pieces of lumber of assorted sizes as investigations continue.
