ITU makes computer donation to Belize

Wednesday, October 21st, 2015. BMG: Five organizations, including three schools, will be benefiting from a computer donation by the International Telecommunications Unioncomputer (ITU) in support of the Ministry of Energy, Science & Technology and Public Utilities’ (METSPU) mandate, which will be handed over in a ceremony tomorrow at the George Price Center for Peace and Development in Belmopan.

That mandate is to increase access to information communications technologies, minimize the digital divide and enhance the millennium development goal and strategies across Caribbean nations.

The organizations receiving these computers are: Stann Creek Ecumenical High School, Immaculate Conception R.C. School of Bullet Tree Falls, Belize Rural High School of Double Head Cabbage village, the National Drug Abuse Control Council and San Antonio Library in the Orange Walk District.

In total, these computers will allow hundreds of children to access the internet in their communities. The ceremony will commence at 9:30 a.m.
