Tuesday, October 27, 2015. BMG: The Belize Bank Limited presented Muffles College with a $10,000.00 donation as part of its program to work with the various communities in positive programs and initiatives.
The donation was a commitment to assist the school in building an auditorium.
Like many schools in Belize, Muffles College was in need of a facility to promote and host sporting and other events. With the contributions from many donors, the auditorium was inaugurated in May of this year, fulfilling a great need for the school and the greater Orange Walk Community.
It is well accepted that communities and young people thrive when investments are made in areas that facilitate positive activities. Not only will this facility bring people together, but it will also play a major role in imparting discipline, building character and promoting constructive competition.
On hand to deliver the check was Laurie Herrera, Belize Bank public relation manager and Shanell Kingston, manager of the Retail Banking Services Orange Walk Branch.
“The Belize Bank Limited is proud to assist with this sponsorship and is certain that the auditorium will enhance student life and enable students and teachers to engage in more extra-curricular activities and a healthy and active lifestyle for many generations,” noted Herrera.
Receiving the check on behalf of the institution was Maria Johnson, Muffles College principal.
