One arrested for burglary at Julies Hardware in San Ignacio

BMG: A former employee of Julies Hardware Store in San Ignacio Town has been charged for the offense of “Burglary” after he used a key to gain access into the establishment and stole a total of $10,000 in cash, sometime during Saturday night and yesterday morning.

The owner of Julies, 49-year-old Alexander Fraser, told police that he had properly secured the building on Saturday night and upon returning yesterday morning, he found the metal door, as well as the pad lock, open. While making checks inside, Fraser discovered that $1,000 was missing from the cashier’s drawer, $5,000 was missing from a metal safe and US $2,000 was also missing.

Quick police work led to the apprehension of 20-year-old Jessie Briceno of Guadelupe Street, San Ignacio, who was found with (83) $5.00 bills, (37) $10.00 bills, (285) dollar coins, several shillings and other items.
