Two suspects nabbed in robbery of over $14,000

By Chrisbert Garcia: In respect to the Tuesday morning theft of a knapsack containing cash and other items in Belize City, 19-year-old Malieck Michael Humes and 22-year-old Macory Alexander Neal have been detained pending investigation, after a search of their 28 Wagner’s Lane residence resulted in the discovery of the stolen knapsack, a gun with three magazines and a total of 42 live rounds of ammunition.

For reference, at around 1:10 p.m. yesterday, a sales agent visited Publics Supermarket on West Canal in Belize City and picked up two plastic bags containing a total of $14,039 and put them in a knapsack which he placed on the passenger seat of his vehicle.

As the agent was about to drive off, a male person opened the passenger door, grabbed the knapsack and ran in the direction of Albert Street.

Police later tracked down the thief and searched his residence where they discovered the knapsack containing only $6,639 and the additional items.
