Body found

By Dalila Ical: Authorities are performing an autopsy on the decomposed body of a male person who was found yesterday afternoon in Orange Walk Town.

Orange Walk Police say they received information about the gruesome discovery from a passerby. At around 3:45 Friday afternoon along the right side of the San Estevan Road, 200 meters from the bridge and 10 feet into the bushes they found a male person hanging by the neck from a tree branch. The individual was hanging from a yellow rope.

Authorities say that the man may have been there for well over a week as only his torso hung from the tree and his lower body had fallen to the ground. Police are trying to establish his identity and are awaiting the results of an autopsy being conducted this morning on the remains.
