5. MURDERBy Aaron Humes: Teenager Lennox Flowers of Belize City was the victim of a fatal stabbing incident just after 9 p.m. in Burrell Boom Village, Belize District.

He was attending a paid and organized entertainment event at the Castleton Park, near the race track in Burrell Boom.

The event was organized to follow the annual Boxing Day horse racing meet at Castleton Race Track.

Flowers, of Partridge Street Extension, died while being transported for treatment after being stabbed.

We understand that there were no reports of any fight during the event and it is believed that Flowers was targeted by his killer for unknown reasons. Police, who were assigned to the event as security, set chase after that person but were unable to catch up with him.
