By Chrisbert Garcia: A murder in the Toledo District last night has left Punta Gorda (PG) Police with no suspects in the chopping death of a Columbia Village resident.crime_scene

That village, located approximately 20 miles outside of PG Town, was the center of national news late last year when an all-out manhunt recruited personnel from the Belize Defense Force (BDF), Police Department and residents of that community, to capture an outcast of the village that was believed to have raped and killed 62-year-old Agripina Coc as she walked home on the evening of August 30, 2014.

The man was eventually captured near San Marcos Village and charged for the murder, rendering the village rather peaceful since then. That was until Evaristo Bul was chopped multiple times to the head by an assailant who approached him from behind and murdered him in cold blood last night.

Preliminary reports state that police have no suspects as yet and details of the incident are still sketchy but BMG will keep monitoring the situation and post updates as the information become available.
