Charges laid on officer accused of rape

By Chrisbert Garcia: Police Constable attached to the San Ignacio Police formation, 21-year-old Luke Moreira of Santa Elena town in the Cayo District, has been arrested and charged with two counts of “rape”.

Moreira’s arrest came as a result of an investigation into a rape report made by a 25-year-old female on December 20th who claimed that the young constable took her out of her cell while she was in police custody and raped her in a dark room.
