Cayo police looking for owner of illegal weapon

BMG Staff: Officers of the Police’s Quick Response Team retrieved a firearm that was dropped by a fleeing suspect, after the vehicle he was in refused to stop at a check point in Ontario village, Cayo District, and when it did stop, he got out the back passenger door and ran, making good his escape.

A .22 Pietro Beretta pistol loaded with three live rounds was later found by the officers, who then detained 25-year-old Lincoln Bejerano and a 17 year old female minor, both residents of Belmopan City, who were in the vehicle at the time.

Police are now looking for Edwardo Santamaria who dropped the .22 pistol.
