Cotton Tree man charged for drugs and ammo

By BMG Staff: A Cotton Tree man was formally arrested and charged for the offenses of keeping unlicensed ammunition and possession of controlled drug.

On Tuesday January 19th, around 8:30 a.m., 44-year-old Roy McCarthy was stopped by Belmopan police while acting suspicious upon seeing the officers on Oriole Street where he was informed that a search on him was going to be done for any firearm and drugs.

Officers discovered a black plastic bag with cartridges and green leafy substance consistent of cannabis weighing in at .3 grams.

He was informed of the offenses and was taken to the Belmopan Police station where he was formally arrested and charged.
