Punta Gorda police burn weed plantation to the ground

/breakingbelizenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/weed-plantation.jpg">By Chrisbert Garcia: More than 1,000 marijuana plants were destroyed in the Toledo District yesterday morning before daylight when Punta Gorda (PG) Police discovered a plantation in Columbia village with plants ranging from 6 inches to 3 feet in height.

Around 4:00 a.m., officers working on information received, traveled to the village located more than 20 miles outside of PG, then uprooted and burned a total of 1,250 plants, which were on the west side of the village, a few miles off its farmers road.

No one was in the area at the time, so police could not make any arrests.
