Bullet Tree man busted for backpack full of weed

By Chrisbert Garcia: Police’s Special Patrol Unit personnel, while on patrol Saturday night around 9:30, stopped and searched two men who were walking in Bullet Tree Falls village, Cayo District, towards Santa Familia, finding 166 grams of cannabis on one of them.

About 100 meters away from Pride of Mopan Bar, officers saw the two Hispanic males walking, stopped and informed them that they would be searched for firearms and drugs, then proceeded to search a backpack one of the men, 26-year-old Ronald Oliver Lopez was carrying, which contained the weed.

Lopez was then taken to the San Ignacio Police Station and charged for the offense of “drug trafficking”.
