By Chrisbert Garcia: As part of career week at the Toledo Community College (TCC) in Punta Gorda Town, a Career Day Expo was held to showcase prominent job choices that would appeal to students after completion of their studies, featuring presentations from various government departments, military branches and banks.
The day was dedicated solely to allowing students to be enlightened about opportunities that are within reach if they work hard at school and explaining how those careers can be obtained, as well as their benefits.
Presentations were done by the Department of Youth Services, Coast Guard, Belize Defense Force, Belize Bank, Transport Department, Customs Department and local businesses, all of which had booths set up to provide information for groups of students who visited each one to inquire.
This expo is an annual event held at the high school to motivate students, as well as help in their decision for career choices and this year’s event was once again a success, said the organizers from the TCC.
