1. FIRES 3By Chrisbert Garcia: It is estimated that a fire at La Gabara Cool Spot yesterday afternoon, which completely destroyed the structure, cost damages amounting to $70,000, but fortunately no one was injured.

Orange Walk Police responded to the scene located on Trial Farm Village’s riverside and saw the building completely engulfed in flames, which later extinguished by the fire department.

The owner of La Gabara, 27-year-old Luis Balan, told officers that he received a phone call that his establishment was on fire at around 3:20 p.m. and by the time he got there, it was already destroyed by the blaze. Police are investigating.
