Belize City man recovering after being shot on Neal’s Pen Road

BMG Staff:  Belize City resident, Austin Garbutt, 42, was seen suffering from a gunshot wound to the right ankle when police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital yesterday evening around 5:30.

Officers responded to shots fired on Neal’s Pen Road and were re-directed to the hospital where Garbutt told them he was standing on the street when a male person approached and fired several shots in his direction, one of which struck his ankle.

Police investigation continues.
