Traffic accident sends two to Western Regional Hospital

By BBN Staff: Two persons are listed in a stable but critical condition at the Western Regional hospital this morning after they were knocked off their motorcycle on the George Price Highway on Friday night.RTA

The accident occurred around 9 p.m. in the village of Camalote in the Cayo District.

A red pickup truck traveling in the direction of San Ignacio Town collided with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction but the pickup truck did not stop there.

Eye witnesses say that the driver of the red pickup truck after colliding into the other vehicle swerved across the highway running into the two motorcyclists.

Both motorcyclists were immediately rushed to the Western Regional Hospital and according to reliable sources; the driver of the pickup truck was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

    That ‘s so bad. People shouldn’t use alcohol before driving.
