Armed robbery in Dangriga nets thief over $12,000

armed-robberyBy BBN Staff: More than $12,000 was lost in an armed robbery at Southern Cable Network’s office in Dangriga on Monday afternoon, when a dark complexion male entered and held up 19-year-old cashier, Dianie Munoz.

Munoz told police that she was inside the office on Court House Road, when around 12:50 p.m., a medium built man standing approximately 5-feet-8 in height, wearing dark clothing, a cap and sunshades, forced himself inside, threatened her with a firearm, then stole several items along with cash.

A black 19 inch Dell Laptop valued at $1,800, an Apple iPhone valued at $450 and $9,905 in cash were stolen from the office before the culprit made his escape with a total value of $12,155 in stolen money and goods. Police continue to investigate.
