By BBN Staff: A press release issued earlier today by the Department of Rural Development serves to inform residents of Santa Familia who are experiencing water problems, that the river will be used to restore water supply by tonight.
It goes on to instruct residents of that community to add a tablespoon of Clorox to every five gallons of water, mix completely and wait for at least 30 minutes before using, or boil the water at a rolling boil for at least one minute to ensure that it is safe.
The release ends by stating that water safety outreach will be conducted by the Ministry of Health and reminds the general public that it is important to conserve water since wells and other sources are low in this dry weather.
