PUP’s Jose Mai involved in road traffic accident

By BBN Staff: The Peoples United Party’s (PUP) Deputy Leader and Orange Walk South Area representative Jose Abelardo Mai is reportedly under police investigation after he hit a woman while driving along the San Martin gas station area on the Philip Goldson Highway in Trial Farm Village.

The incident took place last night and the female victim, Julia Arana, was hit and severely injured. BBN understands that she suffered a fracture to her skull and several broken bones. She was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital.

Arana, mother of popular cyclist Nissan Arana has been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for further treatment and is listed in a critical condition.

Mai’s vehicle has been impounded and he has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
