Keyren Tzib charged with attempted murderBy Aaron Humes: The first of two Supreme Court trials to involve 25 year old Coast Guard officer Keyren Tzib was confirmed today.

Tzib will stand trial for a charge of manslaughter in the stabbing death of her common-law husband, Thytis Blancaneaux, in July of 2015 during a domestic dispute at their Lord’s Bank home.

Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith delivered the ruling to Tzib and her attorney, Darrell Bradley, stating that while she agreed with Bradley that while there are some inconsistencies in the case against her; that is something for the Supreme Court to consider, beginning no later than the June session of the Supreme Court for this year.

Bradley had argued that there was no evidence proving the charge and cited a number of inconsistencies in at least two of the Crown’s main witness statements.

Tzib was released on bail of $10,000 and now awaits a second preliminary inquiry in relation to a charge of attempted murder of colleague, Kurt Hyde, which will be heard on May 16, 2016.
