By Aaron Humes: Reputed George Street Gang Boss Gerald “Shiney” Tillett is dead,  killed by a single gunshot wound to the head on Saturday night.

In reported retaliation, no less than seven shootings have been reported since last night.

The shooting happened while he and two others were socializing at the popular gambling spot, Wadani Shed on St. Vincent Street in Dangriga just after 7 last night.

Police this morning told reporters that Tillett’s group was approached by a lone gunman who opened fire on them.

The other two men who were with Tillett were also injured, but not fatally. They include the proprietor of Wadani Shed, David Rodriguez who received a gunshot wound to the right side of the chest and Carlos Sharp who was injured to the centre of the chest.

The men were transported to the Southern Regional Hospital. While police were still at the hospital, one Nicholas Swazo arrived suffering from gunshot wounds to the back. It is confirmed that he was at the same location of the shooting.

Two of the survivors have since been transported to the Western Regional Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

While police did not want to disclose much more information, they say no one has been detained but they know who the shooter is. They recovered two expended 9mm shells from the scene but have yet to recover any firearms. We will have more details on this developing story as they become available.
