Keep calm; the western border in Belize is open

By BBN Staff: Breaking Belize News has investigated reports of threats made to burn Government buildings at the Western Border and that the border is closed. Neither is true.

Our information from sources who have visited the border is that traffic into and out of Guatemala is free-flowing and there appears to be no delays.

Things are quiet and calm here in the West.

Guatemala’s military build-up appears to be limited solely to their side of the border.

    I advise all Belizeans to exercise extreme caution when visiting Melchor over the weekend.
