Sales agent shot and robbed in Belize City

9. CRIMEBy BBN Staff: Sales agent of San Ignacio Town, 41-year-old Zane Robinson, was shot yesterday evening during a robbery in which he lost items amounting to a total value of $6,500.

Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) around 5:43 p.m. and saw Robinson suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper left shoulder, as well as his left hip.

He told officers that he was going to collect payments for his company on Fire Street in Belize City when, as he was exiting his pickup truck, two male persons approached him. One of the men assaulted him with a firearm and demanded money.

Robinson said that he was then searched and his chrome 9-millimeter pistol valued at $4500, his iPhone 6S valued at $2,000 and the key for his black Hilux were stolen. The culprits then shot him before making good their escape in a blue car.

Robinson remains in a stable condition as police investigation continues.
