Police looking for man who threatened to kill ex-girlfriend and took child from her custody

By BBN Staff: A Belizean American resident of Hattieville’s New Site area in Belize District, reported to police on Saturday that she and her children were attacked in their home by Kenroy Clarke Sr., the complainant’s ex-common law husband.

Daisy Sommerville, 45, stated that around 1:30 p.m. on the mentioned day, while at home attending to her 3-year-old daughter, her eldest son, Andrew Smith, spanked the younger one, 5-year-old Kenroy Clarke Jr., because he refused to take a shower.

Clarke Jr. then left the house, returning shortly after with his father who took a machete off his bicycle and attacked Smith but was subdued, leaving the house in a fit of rage.

Clarke Sr. again returned a short while after with a sawed off shotgun and threatened to kill Sommerville, as well as all her children.

The police was called and thanks to their quick response, Clarke Sr. fled the house along with Clarke Jr. and made good his escape into some nearby bushes upon sight of a police mobile.

He and his son are now being sought by police.
