Stabbing reported in Ladyville

Aaron Humes: Lords’ Bank resident Steven Young was charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm when he appeared today before Magistrate Deborah Rogers. He was remanded into custody until July 29.

Brandon Stevens reported to the police that he went to the bar and saw his common-law wife with 4 men and he asked for the house key. According to Stevens, Young then remarked that some men don’t know how to treat their women.

Stevens said he approached Young and pushed him, and an altercation ensued between them. The fight was broken up and Young went across the street and returned with a machete. Another altercation ensued between Young and Stevens and Young allegedly chopped Stevens.

Police say the accuser wanted not to press charges but they directed him that he could drop them at a later time in court. Additionally, the battery of charges given are indictable offences.
