Woman shot in drive-by

generic-shooting-graphicBy BBN Staff: A 19-year-old female resident of Belize City was injured last night when a man on a motorcycle opened fire in her direction as she walked at the intersection of Freetown and Barrack Roads.

It was around 8:10 p.m. that police responded to reports of a shooting and saw Chiaoma Williams suffering from gunshot wounds to the right buttock area, as well as the left hip.

Initial investigation revealed that two unknown men on a motorcycle, drove up beside Williams as she walked and fired several shots in her direction. Police are investigating.
