Belizean taxi driver hijacked by Guatemalan

By BBN Staff: Credible information reaching our newsroom indicates that a Guatemalan has been detained for allegedly hijacking a Belizean taxi driver in the Cayo District.

BBN Sources have indicated to us that sometime this afternoon a taxi driver was stopped by two men who requested to be dropped off by Bullet Tree Road when upon reaching an area both men held up the taxi driver and its passenger robbing them of their personal belongings.

According to driver of the taxi, his vehicle was also stolen where both men made good their escape.

Information reaching our news room just a few minutes ago is that one person has been detained and the vehicle has been recovered in Guatemalan territory.
